Kendra-isms 11/11/07

We are driving to practice I a good song comes on, I tell Kendra, "break it down shorty!" She tells me, "noooo, you break it down mama!"

Tonight we ran an errand and Kendra brought her typical entourage of stuffed animals. As we get out of the car, I told her she could pick one friend to bring in and the rest can wait in the car. She looks up at me, totally serious and says, "but mama, they be sad and cry if they don't go."

We are playing cards and Kendra looks over my shoulder and shouts, "A K for Kendra!" as soon as she sees my collection of kings. So much for having a poker face.

Kendra just started preschool and so I was working with her on introductions. I taught her to say, "Hi, I'm Kendra, what's your name?" So as my mom and Kendra drive to school the next day Kendra keeps repeating this to my mom, who was a bit confused. ("I know you are Kendra and I am Nana...")

Kendra comes home from preschool and tells me that the other kids cry for their mommy's, but, "I not cry because I'm a big girl!" I am beginning to have quite the collection of large poster sized paintings and drawings from preschool. They look abstract to me, but Kendra is very reassuring about all of the great monsters, rainbows and people she paints.
